Let's Base It...

As a girl who likes a light, dewy base (usually achieved with a bb cream or concoction of my favourite foundation and moisturiser) the thought of a powder base frightened me. No matter what time of year it is, I still like to see the skin's natural texture and a slight glow and powder foundation
just seems like it would cover over both. Then I tried Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Original SPF 15 Foundation (in fairly light). Needless to say, I was blown away.

I had watched a fair few demonstration videos before I had it in my own hands. It promised to give flawless coverage but with a natural no-makeup appearance. I was excited. On first application I felt a little disappointed because it looked as if nothing was happening... at all. A little more buffering in and some patience, however, and I began to notice my skin becoming more and more even in complexion and all around nicer in appearance. Soon my skin was looking naturally flawless but, the best part, still felt and looked like I had nothing on. No powdery finish, just a smooth base that my skin can breathe under.

I haven't used another foundation since (even to an anniversary dinner and a wedding). If you're looking for a new foundation for summer that'll give you nice coverage (as sheer and light as you like but totally buildable enough to cover even acne, scarring, and hyper-pigmentaion) but allow your skin to look like skin and breathe underneath, I highly recommend giving this one a go.

Have you tried the bareMinerals Foundation yet?
