Bedside Beauty
Something that's not often talked about is what we use before slumping into bed. These tend to be less luxurious and more get-the-job-done products that we slap on as a nightly routine. For me, the best products to apply in bed are the ones that'll sink into the skin and work throughout the night. Here's what I've been keeping bedside:
I originally bought this as a moisturiser to keep in my handbag through winter after hearing so many great reviews, but as it leaves an almost greasy film on the hands I added it to my nightly routine and have been loving it. It's super thick and nourishing so helps fixes hangnails and dry cuticles as well as cracked and chapped hands. I talk more about this in my Skincare Saviours post here.
My skin reacts badly, often drying out quite a bit, when the weather changes dramatically so since Spring has rolled in my lips have been dry and sore and this lip balm has been my saviour. You've probably heard all about it or own one yourself (so you know just how great this stuff is) so I won't babble on. It's thick (like solid honey) and deeply nourishing. I apply this before bed and can still feel it in the morning! No other lip balm has come close to healing and repairing my lips quite as fast. This has definitely earned it's place on my bedside table and will staying for a long, long time.
Pacifica Solid Perfume in French Lilac
I love a lavender pillow spray to send me drifting off to sleep at night, but I don't like the thought of laying my freshly cleansed face on a pillow that I've just sprayed with alcohol and chemicals. So, instead, I rub a little of this solid perfume on my wrists and behind my ears (where your skin stays warm) before jumping into bed. It works a treat and because it's made from organic soy and coconut wax and natural essential oils it's not drying or damaging for the skin. It's also vegan and cruelty-free.
