Foundations | It's a Steal
Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB is hands down the best BB cream I've tried. If you're looking for light-weight, dewy but natural coverage, this is the one for you. It comes out looking fairly grey but once applied to the skin transforms into the perfect colour (don't ask me how they do it!). It'll perfectly even out your skin tone but you may need concealer if you've got blemishes or dark circles. This BB cream is formulated for oiler skin types so although it gives a dewy finish it has pretty good staying power (I dust a tiny amount of translucent power over my t-zone and under my eyes and don't need to touch up). Although this isn't the cheapest BB cream on the market it's the only one I love and would repurchase time and time again. It's staying power, coverage, dewy finish (no shine, shimmer or glitter), and colour match is perfect and so, for me, it's well worth the extra pennies. As the warmer weather is rolling in this will be my go-to base with minimal eye makeup and a peachy lip.
Medium
If you want something with a little more coverage but still want to keep it fairly light for the day, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is my recommendation. It's got buildable coverage so I tend to buff in a small amount all over and then go back over any discolouration or uneven skin. If you've got patchier skin, imperfections, or dark circles it's easy to build up the coverage in those areas without looking cakey. It creates the perfect middling texture - not too dewy, not too matte. It keeps the skin looking healthy and glowy like it's your skin without added shimmer or highlight and the staying power is pretty great. When my skin is playing this is my go-to base.
Heavy
If you're looking for a foundation that's heavier still, the Revlon Colorstay foundation is the one for you. It's medium to heavy coverage without giving you that dreaded cakey look so can be worn in the day if you prefer heavier coverage or for a night out for a more dramatic or perfected look. It's great if you have oiler skin as it mattifies and lasts all day / night.
